2012 January Free Celestial Timings

The Infamous 2012 (according to the Gregorian Calendar reckoning) begins with a lot of intention and attention placed on this calendar year. What will 2012 bring us personally and collectively? In this chaotic time of change the one thing we know for sure…is we don’t anything for sure. The invitation of these times is to be present with them and to vibrate with as much love as possible. And so it begins…

Chaos is the score upon which reality is written. ~Henry Miller

Chaos results when the world changes faster than people. ~author unknown

Our real discoveries come from chaos, from going to the place that looks wrong and stupid and foolish.  ~Chuck Palahniuk

Chaos often breeds life, when order breeds habit. ~Henry Brooks Adams

Chaos in the world brings uneasiness, but it also allows the opportunity for creativity and growth. ~Tom Barrett

A cycle of frantic social change is an expression of Divine chaos; that is, the stability factors that have held the social fabric in place are shifted seemingly in an instant and the result is chaos. ~Saint Teresa of Avila

As we begin 2012 it is clear we are living in Chaotic Times…

For Teresa of Avila (a prominent Spanish mystic, Carmelite nun, and writer of the Counter Reformation, and theologian of contemplative life through mental prayer), Divine chaos was God’s way of creating an upheaval in order to break through patterns of denial that held a person emotionally or mentally captive. From St. Teresa’s perspective, divine chaos brought about necessary endings to ways of living that ceased to serve the well being of humanity.

We are in a time of great endings and beginnings and 2012 is a year that has a great deal of awareness around what is ending and what is beginning. As with every year and every moment it is up to us  to focus our intention on what we are co-creating with the Earth going forward. Being willing to be conscious co-creators has never been more important, as well as working with the As Above, So Below mysteries has also never been more important, as these Timings are assisting us in consciously co-creating with Great Mystery.

Interestingly, in Greek myth Eros or Love was born out of Chaos. See January 31 for more about this. Being willing to be with the gifts of Chaos is a way to also invite greater magic and love into our lives.

The definition of Magic in this instance is an extraordinary event or natural manifestation that is seemingly beyond ordinary reality and yet it is tangibly manifested in the middle world. Un-explainable synchronicity or correspondences that occur around intentions can be a wondrous magical event or a confirmation relating to the intention. This is the type of magic that can be described as a manifestation through active resonance in the holographic field where all things are connected. Paying attention to the magic all around is a powerful way to know you are on track with your conscious co-creative actions. The greatest intent any of us can have at this time is to manifest the power of love as the energy that changes our world and is the basis of the New Earth.

Stars Worth Noting in of January

In January you can see the two brightest stars of the constellation of the Twins, Castor and Pollux, begin this month rising North of East not long after Sunset. The white star Castor rises about 25 minutes before the yellow star Pollux. Very prominent in the January sky is what we refer to as the Sacred Hoop of Stars as defined by the Lakota Nation. This Hoop includes Castor and Pollux, Procyon, Sirius, Rigel, the Pleiades and Capella. At the center of this Hoop is the Galactic Edge. The January 8/9 Cancer Full Moon is located in the Twins near the edge of the Hoop.

Betelguese is the bright red star inside the Sacred Hoop Marking the shoulder of Orion. (Some sources say the word Betelguese translates as armpit). Rigel is the bright Blue Star in Orion that marks his foot.

In January the Big Dipper stands up like a question mark. This is opposite of the head of the Lion that appears as a reverse question mark and Regulus marks the dot on the reverse mark.

Daily Celestial Timings Sample (all times are Pacific Standard Time unless otherwise noted)

Sky at 6:30 pm looking south

January 01, Sunday. The New Year begins at mid-night with Sirius on the Mid-heaven, or said another way, Sirius is crossing the meridianDue to precession, according to Guy Ottewell’s Astronomical Calendar, this is now actually happening closer to January 2. (See Dec 31, 2011 archives for details)

The waxing half Moon (10 Aries 14) or First Quarter Moon was exact last night at 11:15 pm Pacific or at 1:15 am this morning Eastern time. The Moon has also been conjunct Uranus adding a wild, inspiring, unexpected, adventurous and revolutionary symbolism to this New Year. The Aries first quarter Moon accelerates any actions, ideas, concepts or beliefs we are strongly committed to furthering. Both the sign of Aries and the First Quarter Moon represent rapid growth so it is important to be clear about where you are focusing your thoughts, energies and intentions or New Year resolutions, as they have the potential to grow more quickly than usual.

This is a great symbol for actively committing to our 2012 New Year intentions. Taking time to do an intentional Ceremony to activate your personal vision for this year helps to anchor that intention in the world of form. There are many ways to do this. Here are a few suggestions to get you started:

It might be helpful to create sacred space and then sit and listen to your inner guidance for the intentions that feel most aligned for you. If you don’t know what intentions to create, simply ask the part of yourself that knows what is next for you? Then listen for answers and maybe even take time to write them down.

Taking time to  write down your intentions and/or creating a Vision Board, or some other visual expression of your intentions and/or  starting a 2012 Creative Journal is a way to bring them into a manifested form through writing. You might begin the journal or ceremony by listing your intentions and adding images or drawings that represent the vision of what you are co-creating. Images for either the vision board, or journal, or both can be found in magazines or on the internet, or if you have artistic abilities you can create the symbols yourself. Internet images/symbols can be printed and then pasted or taped on your vision board or in your journal.

Aries loves to move so once you have your intentions in mind, or written down, or captured in a visual expression then doing a ceremonial dance or drumming, or some kind of movement by yourself or with others is another way to physically align and activate your intention. Music is a powerful creative force that helps to facilitate joyful, alive, energy aligning feelings of joy with your intent. Dancing can also help get us in touch with intent if inspiration isn’t coming through so it might helpful to start your ceremony with dance.

Dancing or moving to inspiring music helps to embody the joy and aliveness great music inspires so you are in even greater alignment with your intent. Dancing is actually one of the oldest forms of prayer. The main idea here is to find ways to align yourself on all levels, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually by taking loving and inspired action that strengthens your alignment.

January 02, Monday. The waxing Moon is entering Taurus at 2:16 pm and passes 4.8 degrees NNW of Jupiter (0

Taurus 29) at 4:14 pm. Tonight the Moon will be visible just beyond Jupiter energizing and expanding the mysteries of beauty, love and gratitude. Love and Gratitude are high vibrational energies for successfully co-creating a new reality. When we are aligned with Love and Gratitude then the world mirrors Love, Gratitude and Miracles back to us. The reality is you are Miracle, your life is a miracle, each moment you are alive is a miracle and you are entitled to experience miracles in your life. (See More Here)

January 03, Tuesday. Mercury (23 Sagittarius) is passing by the fixed star Ras Alhague in the constellation of Ophiuchus. Messenger Mercury passes this star at least once each year energizing the messages from the crown chakra of the Serpent Healer (a.k.a Ophiuchus) who is most interested in healing for the purpose of experiencing wholeness personally and collectively.

January of last year there were articles that appeared talking about the 13th sign, creating quite an upset for many who didn’t understand the difference between Signs and Constellations. More HERE

Ophiuchus is NOT a sign (as signs represent the seasonal calendar) but rather a constellation of stars located along the ecliptic partly in the Milky Way above the constellation of the Scorpion. The snake or Serpens held by Ophiuchus represents healing and resurrection. Ophiuchus was Aesculapius (to the Greeks) whose primary symbol was the caduceus, also the modern day medical symbol. For the ancient Greeks the caduceus represented both the poison (venom) or medicine (elixir) that can either cure or kill. Aesculapius used it to cure and there were healing temples located near sacred springs dedicated to Aesculapius through out Greece. Those who came to be healed spent time bathing and fasting and then entered special ‘dream incubation chambers’. The dreams the patients had  helped to diagnose and select the cures that were suited to that patient

Tuning into the transmission coming from Mercury in connection to the crown chakra (Ras Alhague) of Ophiuchus reminds us to set an intent for accessing our personal healing cures with clear guidance coming through the dreamtime while we sleep.

January 04, Wednesday. Today marks the Earth’s annual closest approach to the Sun (perihelion), the source of light and life for our planet. (FYI on July 5 Earth is farthest from the Sun (aphelion) in its annual cycle.) It might be worthwhile to consciously attune to the Sun today and see what, if any, Solar Attunements are coming through.

The Moon is visible approaching the Pleiades this morning passing by this star cluster early tomorrow morning. Astronomers refer to the Pleiades open cluster as M45 located in the constellation of the Bull. The Pleiades have also been called the Seven Sisters and is among one of the closest  star clusters to Earth. Due to its visibility from Earth, inspiring to see,  it is also one of the best known as well.   Sometimes these stars have also been referred to as the Maia Nebula.

The Pleiades are dominated by hot blue stars that formed in the last 100 million years and will probably survive about another 250 million years before dispersing due to the gravitational pull found in the spiral arms of our galaxy.

There are many mythic tales from many cultures about the Pleiades. (See December 7, 2011 Archives) One of the mythic stories that is fitting for this time of year views the Pleiades as having links with the imagery of the Savior. The story goes:

On a street in the Holy Land, the Savior smelled the delicious aroma of freshly-baked bread. Entering the shop, the Savior was instantly recognized by the baker who presented Him with a tasty treat and a chance to rest from His labors. In gratitude, the Savior placed the baker, his wife and seven daughters in the Heavens to be safe with Him forever.
