This is the Plain Text Version of the January 2015 Celestial Timings

The above prayer (see PDF version to see the Prayer) was inspired by the Serenity Prayer back in 2009. The Serenity Prayer can be traced to newspaper articles from the early 1930s. Winnifred Crane Wygal, included a version of the prayer in her book, We Plan Our Own Worship Services, published in 1940 and she attributed the prayer to Reinhold Niebuhr.

O God, give us the serenity to accept what cannot be changed,
The courage to change what can be changed,
and the wisdom to know the one from the other

The most common version of the prayer and the one adopted by many Twelve Step programs is in the image to the right.

I am grateful that I am usually able to accept what IS and roll with the flow of what is unfolding. However, there are times when I do find myself resisting – especially when I am feeling challenged. Sometimes I find the ability to accept is easier after it is all said and done and I am no longer in the heat of the moment.

The prayer I came up with about accepting life on life’s terms came to me when I was struggling with events beyond my control. I was asking for support in accepting the loss of many hours of writing that disappeared off my computer, requiring a BIG redo and I was bummed. It is now nearly 6 years later and during this last 6 years I feel I have increased my capacity to accept life on life’s terms, and yet I can still find myself challenged with this from time to time. Currently I am sorting out what I need to let go of and what I can build on as I navigate my second Saturn return.

Second Saturn Return
I have been feeling the pressure of Saturn to recreate my life in a new way that gets results with less effort and allows me more time to play and enjoy, for the last 3 years as Saturn has opposed my Venus, crossed my Ascendant and squared my Mercury. In the last couple of weeks Saturn entered Sagittarius and my Saturn return officially has begun. With all this Saturn over the past 3 years I am seeing the limits of what I have created – though it once served me very well – I know it is time to shed the old skin. I even have a snake skin I was gifted at the end of 2013, with snakes on my altar to remind me to keep shedding.

One of my personal challenges and life pattern is that I tend to be a work-a-holic. I love what I do but I also love spending time with my beloved husband, children and friends. I LOVE to be in nature and yet I often find myself over committed to more worthy projects than are truly supportive to my desire for a more balanced life of work and play.

I am aware that I tend to be Saturn driven – proving to my dead father, and myself, that I am not lazy and I do have something of value to contribute. (Another Story about that HERE) It is an old program that has softened over the years but still can be at the root of what drives my Doing Addiction. The challenge for me is that I love what I do and I am not always able to tell if I am Doing because of those critical inner voices and the drive to prove that I have value by how much I can achieve and produce or because it really is mine to do! (See audios on the Doing Addiction)

When I find myself cranky because I have been working too much I now take that as a sure sign it’s time to stop and get into nature or do something FUN as soon as I can responsibly do so. I started out really balancing that well in 2014, with weekly – sometimes twice weekly fabulous hikes, and then somehow fell back into old patterns where I wasn’t allowing myself to BE in nature enough.

As I enter my second Saturn Return I am aware it is time to create new ways of being with myself and in the world. So with that in mind, Peter and I took our first vacation as a couple – EVER. It was just 5 days but a wonderful start.

The thing is we have been married 8 years now and we didn’t even take a honeymoon when we got married, though we did have a beautiful secret wedding in Sedona. (More about our wedding is HERE).

For me this is the first time I have traveled anywhere that wasn’t related to my work with Shamanic Astrology or family in nearly two decades. This was just about having FUN and interrupting old patterns and seeing new places. It was such a restorative experience we are both looking forward to creating more vacation type times without cell phones or computers. So again it’s a start of something new and FUN.

Influences of 2015
Like the past few years, 2015 is another year filled with opportunities for radical change and perspective shifts that will most likely occur in unexpected ways through unusual events. Many of these events will test our ability to go with the flow and Accept What IS, while also trusting that we are being divinely guided no matter what it looks like on the surface.

Acceptance, Trust and Courage
The gifts of acceptance, trust and courage empowers the process of transformation. Our task this next year and beyond, is to trust we will KNOW what IS ours to change, know when to take action that will help facilitate the change, have the courage to take the necessary action even if it’s scary, and to know what action will produce the best results. In addition to all this, it is also about being aware of when it is time to release and let go and accept what IS, allowing for the natural unfolding of what is happening  because it is NOT our job to change it.

It is important to remember that you don’t have to like what is happening. I can remember many  times when I haven’t. You might even spend time wishing it was different. I have done this more than I care to admit.  Plus, you might even find it is important to accept that you don’t feel accepting of whatever is happening. This is a really useful paradox to remember, though it can be really easy to judge our resistance to accepting what IS in ourselves and others. I know I have. (HERE is personal story about a succesful intervention)

Learn to Discern
Back in 2009 I realized that my job was to Learn to Discern what I could and couldn’t change. I also learned that sometimes all I needed to change the situation was to change my perception about it. Perception is the main factor that creates our reality. When our perception shifts then the circumstances usually shift as well.

We are beginning 2015 with a strong Uranian/Aquarian influence. Mars begins this year at 22 Aquarius. Venus enters Aquarius on January 3, Mercury enters Aquarius on January 4 and the Sun enters Aquarius on January 20 with the first of two Aquarius New Moon’s also on January 20. Uranus is with the South Node this month and both Uranus and Pluto are passing the degrees of the Grand Cross that was exact last year. Plus the Moon is activating Uranus (a very Aquarian Factor) all this year through a series of 13 occultations and Mercury is going retrograde in Aquarius on January 21.

With such an incredibly strong Aquarian theme beginning this year it suggests our opportunity is to experience “freedom from the known” and “events of extreme novelty” intended to produce radical evolutionary/revolutionary change, taking us to where we are destined to be, even if we have no ideas where that IS. The more we are willing to flow with and accept these changes the easier and more rewarding it will be. Woohoo!

Here’s to Dreaming and Living into a Magical Wondrous New Year!

Something I have done to help change up the energy and release old patterns is to donate my hair to Locks of Love. I did that in 2004 and over the next 2 years my life changed drastically, way beyond what I could have imagined. So 10 years later at the end of 2014 in honor of my 2nd Saturn Return – I decided it was time to do it again as a way to open to the new forms that Saturn will help me create by first releasing the old. This is not easy for me because I LOVE having long hair. Here is an audio about the symbolism of hair including the story about the stars of Coma Berenice.

January Planets

Evening star Mercury reaches greatest elongation about 19 degrees from the Sun on January 14 and will be stationing retrograde on January 21. Venus and Mercury come with the degree of each other by mid-January.
Evening star Venus is catching up to Mars also in the evening sky. Venus and Mars are exactly conjunct on February 21.
Evening star Jupiter is rising around 8:33 pm as January begins and it is rising around 6:19 pm by the end of January. Jupiter stationed retrograde in early December and will reach opposition to the Sun in early February. Jupiter is visible near the constellation of the Lion and will pass by Regulus in August.
Morning Star Saturn is rising around 4:23 am as January begins and around 2:38 am by month’s end. Saturn is visible entering the constellation of the Scorpion hanging out with the Eye of the Scorpion for several weeks.

Also worth noting is the close alignment of Uranus and Pluto as they had to their last exact alignment near the Spring Equinox. We also have the continuation of a series of occultations of the Moon over Uranus with a total of 13 happening this year. 5 already occurred last year.

The Moon also begins a series of 48 occultations over the royal star Aldebaran, marking the eye of the Bull on January 29, 2015 and ending September 3, 2018. This is due to the inner lunar standstill of the Moon and the fact that the Moon passes Aldebaran 13 times each year. Be sure to listen to the audios explaining more about this.

In 2015 there are three new comets that could potentially reach naked eye observation, including: Lovejoy, PANNstars, and Catalina. Comet Lovejoy reaches closest approach to the Sun on January 30, and may be visible to the naked eye passing through the stars of Eridanus (the river) at 6 degrees magnitude just within the limits of visual observation. Lovejoy also passes by the constellation of the Ram, and catches up to the constellation Andromeda by February.

January Night Sky
Very prominent in the January sky is what we refer to as the Sacred Hoop of Stars as defined by the Lakota Nation. This Hoop includes Castor and Pollux, Procyon, Sirius, Rigel, the Pleiades and Capella. At the center of the Hoop is the Galactic Edge where the plane of the galaxy and the plane of the Solar system intersect forming the Galactic Cross where the June Solstice Sun currently rises.

Also this month the two brightest stars of the constellation of the Twins, Castor and Pollux, can be seen rising North of East not long after Sunset. The white star Castor rises about 25 minutes before the yellow star Pollux.

Betelguese is the bright red star inside the Sacred Hoop Marking the shoulder of Orion. (Betelguese translates as armpit). It is an irregular variable star that varies its brightness between that of Capella and Antares. Betelgeuse is a red super giant which is bigger that the orbit of Mars.

Rigel is the bright blue white star on the S.W. corner of Orion marking his foot. It is about 900 light years away and is 150,000 times as bright as our sun.

Orion’s Belt is made up of three diagonal stars all within 3 degrees of each other. The highest star, Mintaka is on the celestial equator. These stars are sometimes called the “three Marias”.

Coming down from the middle of the three is a line of stars known as the sword. If you look closely at the lower stars in the sword you will see a faint fuzzy patch. This is the famous Orion Nebula, where astronomers have found many new stars are born. The Moon is passing above this area of the sky as January begins and again on January28 and 29.

In January the Big Dipper stands up like a question mark. This is opposite of the head of the Lion that appears as a reverse question mark now rising in the evening sky with retrograde Mars hanging out in this area of the sky for the next few months.

 January 2015 Celestial Timings

(All times are PST unless otherwise noted)

January 1, Thursday. Moon enters Gemini at 09:08 am passing by the Pleiades (the only Behenian Star Cluster) on this first day of 2015 transmitting messages from this Stargate. The Moon will pass by here at the end of the month. (For more see January 28) Interestingly many ancient cultures regarded the Pleiades as their home or where they originated.  There are several Native American tribes that have mythic tales about the Pleiades including the understanding that this star cluster is an inter-dimensional portal that can take us beyond this universe. (Scroll down page on this link to Star Knowledge – Ant People)
When the Sun Moon or any other planet passes by this part of the sky it increases the possibility of receiving a transmission or guidance from the light codes of the Pleiades. This is a time when it may be easier to do a shamanic journey to gain access to this portal or the information encoded in this Celestial Library.

Mars 21°Aquarius 42′ is opposite retrograde Jupiter 21° Leo 42′ at 01:48:45 pm expanding the quest for revolutionary, new, and unique ways to engage in conscious equal partnership. This is because Mars began its new cycle or quest in April of 2014 in the sign of Libra, meaning this is the archetypal energy and focus of the masculine until May of 2016.

The Moon is visible approaching Aldebaran tonight for the first time this month. The second passage on January 29 is also an occultation beginning a series of occulations that will last until early September 2018. Stay tuned for much more information coming about this powerful series and how to work with it. (see January 29 and this article)

January 2, Friday. The Sun is reaching 12 Capricorn 30 making its annual conjunction with the star Nunki exact today and the Sun catches up to Pluto (13 Capricorn 15) tomorrow. Nunki marks the vane of the arrow – the second brightest fixed star in the constellation of the Archer. Pluto is with this star well into next year. The Sun is illuminating the shadow that is ready to be released by the Archer’s Arrow directly into Galactic Center or the Galactic Cauldron where the arrow is pointing.

Once each year the Sun passes by this star but only for a time period every 248 years is Pluto located in this part of the sky, suggesting this Timing is more potent than usual.

The Moon passes 1.4° N of Aldebaran around 3:30 this morning. Aldebaran is the eye of the Bull, and one of the four royal stars of ancient times also one of Behenian stars and is activated whenever the Moon is here. The Moon will be visible beyond Aldebaran tonight.

January 3, Saturday. Quadrantid Meteor Shower will be dampened by the waxing Moon. The Sun (12°Capricorn 38′) Square Uranus (12°Aries38′) is exact at 02:40 am. Then the Sun (13°Capricorn 16′) catches up to Pluto (13°Capricorn16′) exact at 03:34 pm. This entire first week of January (today being exact) the Sun is illuminating the Uranus Pluto square including the shadow aspects that Pluto helps to transform.

The Sun is also illuminating the unexpected unusual possibilities that are intended to bring about radical change and evolution. This is about trust and faith in the evolutionary process even if it seems a bit messy or is taking you deep into the wild unknown. You may not know where you are going but from a place of surrender and trust – where ever that may be – is where you want to be – at least from an evolutionary perspective.

The Moon enters Cancer at 05:07 pm so is coming into T-square with the Uranus Pluto Square by opposing Pluto and squaring Uranus over the next couple of days. When the Moon enters Cancer it is located on the Galactic Cross at the Galactic Edge where the June Solstice Sun rises.

The Cancer mysteries remind us of the importance of responsibly nurturing ourselves in ways that support us individually and collectively, now and for the next several generations to follow. In the window of these heightened transformational energies – the Moon is transmitting the mysteries of healthy practices that are nurturing for ourselves and the planet.

Venus enters Aquarius at 6:48 am exploring the mysteries of the cosmic revolutionary, whose intent is to ultimately revolutionize conscious awareness through the living expressed truth of our divinity. Aquarius energy is committed to its own unique path of self-expression, questioning what is and not settling for the limitations of what has been acceptable in the past. Aquarius has the ability to step back, see the cosmic overview and let go of all the injustices and pain that limit the experience of true freedom. This revolutionary energy pushes for the changes that are cathartic, liberating and evolutionary.

January 4, Sunday. The Earth is at its annual perihelion or its closest approach to the Sun in its yearly cycle. The aphelion or when Earth is farthest from the Sun is always in early July. This means the light codes coming from the Sun are magnified during the Solstice and most of January. Today also marks the latest sunrise (7:22 am) for those around 40 degrees North LatitudeAs we go forward from this time, the Sun will begin rising a minute or so earlier each day until we have the earliest sunrise around the Summer Solstice.

Mercury enters Aquarius at 05:07 pm and travels through this sign until March 17 due to the upcoming Mercury Retrograde on January 21. Messenger Mercury in Aquarius is most interested in the messages that revolutionize our perspective and how we think – freeing us from limiting concepts and images.

Mercury in Aquarius feels an undeniable urge to move into new, unfamiliar, yet expansive territory, experimenting with whole new ways of perceiving this reality utilizing the power of disruption through unexpected and novel events to shift outmoded and limited perspectives into more expansive and liberating ones.

The Cancer Full Moon (14°Cancer31′) or Magi Full Moon (see January 6) is exact at 08:53 pm illuminating the possibility for the fruition of seeds (or intentions) that were planted around compassionate self-care in some earlier cycle. This is about ensuring our self-care and also includes nurturing family, friends and community in ways that are healthy and sustainable. Visually Moon phases last for three days, so we see the Moon rising full the night before, the night of, and the night after the exact Full Moon, suggesting we can use any of these days to ceremonially celebrate the Full Moon. However tonight is the fullest rise of the Moon, rising around 5:00 and 5:30 pm depending on your location.

Once each year the Moon is full in Cancer bringing to light the gifts of responsibly nurturing ourselves, our children, our children’s children (for at least the next 7 generations) and the Earth. This includes taking responsibility for our personal needs (i.e. resting when tired, eating when hungry and engaging in activities that promote health and well-being). The Cancer Full Moon illuminates the mysteries around creating safe nurturing space for ourselves and for others be they children, elders, animals, or the planet.

January 5, Monday. The Sun makes its annual conjunction to Vega (15 Capricorn 31) in the constellation known as Lyra beginning today and exact tomorrow. The Sun activates Vega from December 30 to January 12 each year. Vega is one of the Behenian Stars that connects to the gem stone chrysolite and the herb winter savory.

In the book Fixed Stars and Their Interpretation published in 1923, Elsbeth Ebertin describes Vega. Keep in mind this is an old interpretation and we are in a time when we may develop a new relationship with these star energies.

In a good cosmic configuration, Vega is supposed to give artistic talents especially for music and acting, but also a liking for good living. With eccentric artists, this may lead to a debauched life. Tied up with Jupiter or Venus, Vega is said to pave the way to riches and fame. However, if other influences play a part, this wealth may be lost again. High success is promised if Vega is positioned on the Ascendant or Mid-heaven. One can find Vega in corresponding aspects in birth charts of statesmen, politicians, persons of importance and influential persons with adequate aspects. In connection with the Moon or Neptune a tendency for the occult and mysticism may be given.

Pluto is exact with Vega by March 1 having entered the six degree orb in 2011 and will stay within 6 degrees into December of 2019. This is because Pluto is only moving less than 3 degrees a year. Stay tuned for more about this BIG event coming next month.

January 6, Tuesday. Today is Epiphany (also known as the “The Adoration of the Magi” or “The Manifestation of God”) ending the twelve days of Christmas as calculated in traditional times. We are just two days past the Magi Full Moon or the Full Moon in Cancer that also honors the tradition of the Magi long before the time of Christ.

In current times the story we have is about the Three Kings, Three Wise Men or Three Magi: Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar. Epiphany is the day they are remembered and honored for following the star to Bethlehem and bringing the gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to the Christ child.  Tuning into the energy of Epiphany with a still nearly Full Moon illumination, supports an opportunity for epiphanic insights that help us to Dream into the NEW Earth and experience new ways of cooperatively living in harmony with all life!

The waning Moon enters Leo at 03:02 am catching up to Jupiter tomorrow at 9:07 pm accelerating the mysteries of our fully expressed divine essence through radical, radiant self-love, self-confidence, self-approval and self-acceptance. This isn’t reckless ego but rather confident and enthusiastic expressions of self-love that inspire others and gives them permission to radiate the truth of their divine essence. Imagine what the world would be like if we all could remember how to BE this?

January 7, Wednesday. The Moon passes about 5 degrees S of retrograde Jupiter (21°Leo09′) at 09:07 pm. Once each month when the Moon passes through Leo (until August of this year) it further energizes the expansive nature of Jupiter in Leo, exponentially expanding the light of who we are truly meant to BE. This is a great time to ponder the ways you DO or do NOT love yourself. If you find you are experiencing heavy self-judgment – spend some time, either outside with the Moon and Jupiter, or in a meditative state, asking your higher self to help you, show you, or tell you how you can affectively release this judgment and experience the divinity that you ARE.

January 8, Thursday. The Moon enters Virgo at 2:57 pm passing 4 degrees S of Regulus, visible beyond Regulus tonight. Regulus is the heart star of the Lion. This this star has been described as the Watcher of the North, one of the four royal stars of ancient Persia and is linked with Archangel Raphael.

The ancients saw this star as having a lot of warrior energy and the dark side of this star is focused on revenge, the kind that always comes with a high price.

This star can bring great success to those who have it prominent in their charts if revenge is avoided. The best plan of action is to use the energies of Regulus as a way to increase your connection to the compassionate nature of the heart. Being guided by the wisdom of your heart will always direct you toward fulfilling your divine purpose in ways that are healthy and loving.

In November of 2011 the seasonal sign of Virgo began to overlay Regulus after 2160 years of it being located in the season of Leo bringing a new element of connection with the sacred patterning to this prominent heart star. This means when the Sun reaches Zero Virgo (usually around Aug 22 or 23) it is with Regulus.

The Moon in Virgo with Regulus brings heart energy into whatever sacred work it is we may be doing. Maybe the sacred work for you is spending time in nature, cultivating a garden, helping others, and/or being a point of light on the planet.  (check out week two audio for more)

January 9, Friday. Saturn (1 Sagittarius 47) is within one degree of the star Dschubba (2 Sag 46) catching up to be exact with this star on January 22, May 7, and October 19 of this year. Saturn can only be with this star every 29.5 years so it was November of 1985 when Saturn was last here. Saturn came back to station with Dschubba on Aug 6, 1986.

Dscubba marks the eye of the Scorpion (as seen in the image to the right) and was seen by some cultures as the Eye of the Dragon or the crown on the head of the Scorpion. Dscubba is also known as Isidis suggesting this was one of the stars of the Goddess Isis.

Dschubba or Isidis was also called  Iclarkrav coined from the Arabic Iklil al ‘Akrab, meaning the “Crown of the Scorpion”, or sometimes referred to as just Iclil; the Arabic word for ‘jewel’. This was one of the fortunate stations. [Star Names, p. 367, under Acrab]

Dschubba becomes a personal star for those with planets angles or nodes between Zero and 6 degrees of Sagittarius. In ancient times this was considered a star that imparted the qualities of a shrewd, cunning mind and great organizational skills, along with a tendency toward strong passions that could lead to relationship issues with the opposite sex.

We are in a time of rapid evolution so the old judgments or perceptions of what a star represented are no longer necessarily true. As our perception shifts and awareness expands, so does our relationship and understanding of these stars.

A big part of the emerging new paradigm is to take time to tune into these star energies with fresh understanding of their true intent. For example, in the 1997 book Starwalking: Shamanic Practices for Traveling into the Night Sky author Page Bryant tells us Dschubba is helping ‘propel us into the next millennium.’

We might ask – what is the true nature and intent of the eye of the Scorpion/Dragon, and how is Saturn passing by this star helping to inform me/us at this time? How is Dschubba and Saturn helping to propel me/us forward in this new millennium?

With Saturn making its 30 year passage by this star three times this year we have plenty of time to tune in and see what light codes and messages Dschubba has for us now.

January 10, Saturday. Mercury (7 Aquarius 59) and Venus (8 Aquarius 37) are now within .6 degrees of each other. Mercury is stationing direct on January 21 so will not reach an exact conjunction with Venus but is still visibly very close.

Venus and Mercury are within 10 degrees from January 1 to 24. Sometimes when Venus and Mercury come together in the sky the builders of Solomon’s Temple believed it signaled the return of the Shekinah or Divine Feminine.

Christopher Knight and Richard Lomas thought that had to do with Venus rising in the East at dawn, but if you think of this from the perspective of the Venus cycle, with Venus having just risen into the evening sky in the process of ascension or returning to her place as Queen of Heaven, then now could also represent the return of the Divine Feminine in her wisdom, strength and beauty.

In the story of Inanna (who is the planet Venus) when she meets with Ninshubar it is describing her meeting with the planet Mercury. Ninshubar or Mercury is the messenger who seeks help to rescue Inanna from the underworld when she does not return by a certain time. There reunion is joyous and filled with gratitude. Ninshubar feared she may never see Inanna again so is immensely relieved to see her Queen in all her radiance. Inanna is grateful for Ninshubar’s assistance that helped get her out of the underworld.

This part of the Inanna/Venus story reminds us of the importance of our friends and allies when setting out on an initiatory journey. If you feel you would like to be part of a magical Circle from around the world working ceremonially with this Venus cycle check out the details HERE.

The Sun is making its annual conjunction with the asteroid/dwarf planet Vesta (20°Capricron42′). This means Vesta is in the underworld, illuminated by the light of the Sun where it is likely this high priestess is receiving a download from the Ancient Ones and the Circle of Grandmothers about what is needed to restore harmony and balance to the Earth.

January 11, Sunday. The Moon enters Libra at 3:56 am traveling through Libra for the next couple of days energizing the mysteries of conscious equal partnership, harmony and balance. Moon in Libra is a great time to reflect on our inner and outer relationship with life and what these relationships are teaching us about ourselves.

January 12, Monday. Mars enters Pisces at 2:10 am and travels through this seasonal sign until Feb 19. Mars travels through Pisces about once every two years. For example, Mars entered Pisces April 30, 2005, April 6, 2007, March 14, 2009, February 22, 2011, February 1, 2013 and now today in 2015.

Mars traveling through Pisces brings the focus of the Mars quest for conscious equal partnership into the realm of deepening compassion for ourselves and for others. When healthy this is a tremendous gift we bring to our most personal relationships.

My amazing husband, Peter shared with me recently a somewhat Piscean and possibly Taurean perspective. He has a 7th house Mars in Taurus with Neptune opposite, meaning there is a strong Piscean flavor to what he shared, that is operating in the realm of relationship or the 7th house.

He said: I am NOT attached to how you are, what you do, and how you feel – meaning how happy you are, how healthy you are, how successful you are – as I know that is NOT my job. Not being attached to all that allows me to be constantly delighted in observing your unfolding growth and daily activities without thinking you SHOULD or should NOT be a certain way.

This actually came from a conversation he was having with someone telling this person about our relationship. This caused the other person to say: “Oh so what you are telling your wife is: ‘I love you the way you are and want you to more of who you are.’ Wow, I want someone to be that way with me!”

Yes, I do know I am very lucky girl to have such an amazing partner in my life. AND it seems this is one of the ways Mars in Pisces could be contributing to the masculine journey through the Libra archetype. It is not about fixing or changing the other person to fit our picture of the partner but actually loving who they are exactly as they are.

Adding to this theme is the Moon with the North Node (13°Libra42′) at 7:33 am adding to the sense of destiny associated with how we are moving into new ways of relating that come from compassion and being unattached to results. (see January 13)

January 13, Tuesday. The Libra First Quarter Moon (22°Libra52′) exact at 1:46 am is passing 3 degrees N of Spica. This adds to yesterday’s Timing – in regard to the importance of how we relate to ourselves and others.

In Ken Keyes book, A Conscious Persons Guide to Relationship, the title of the very first chapter IS “Develop a Relationship With Yourself Before Getting Deeply Involved with Anyone Else.” Ken Keyes points out that those who are addicted to relationship will continually unconsciously sabotage them or be sabotaged by them until they are finally forced to look at the relationship they have with themselves. He says:

Your relationship is like a mirror – it reflects you back to you. Whatever you demand or require, your partner will often develop an opposite energy. For example, if you play the part of “helpless,” your partner may unconsciously push you into being more independent; if you demandingly play an independent role, your partner may consciously or unconsciously want you to become more dependent on him/her…So work on yourself until you know you can make it alone. Introduce yourself to the beautiful, capable and lovable you. Then let others discover you!

This brings to mind the chant from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, that starts out with Mirror Mirror on the Wall though instead of asking who is fairest of them all – it might be more useful to ask or state your willingness to see it All and to be curious about what is being reflected back to you. This is about being willing to see every experience, every person, everything that happens in your world, as a reflection that is being mirrored back to you, is a vital step in being willing to take responsibility for your life and for your experiences. (see January 12)

The Moon enters Scorpio at 3:44 pm illuminating the mysteries of passionate aliveness. The fullest experience for Scorpio comes from living on the edge, discovering personal passion and what feels most alive. The Scorpio Mysteries are noted for a willingness to explore and expand the edges of our personal and collective experience. Expanding edges act as shamanic initiations taking us beyond who we think we are.

January 14, Wednesday. Mercury (13 Aquarius) reaches greatest elongation from the Sun (24 Capricorn) at almost 19 degrees. This means Mercury has reached as far from the Sun as possible in this cycle and will begin dropping toward the western horizon and stationing retrograde on January 21.

Mars (02°Pisces13′) is square Saturn (02°Sagittarius13′) at 10 pm assisting Mars in Pisces in anchoring powerful new forms for more compassionate relating as long as they don’t get bogged down in “old” limiting forms or rules that limit and restrict the possibilities of what we can truly experience. (see Jan 12 and 13)

January 15, Thursday. The Moon enters Sagittarius at 12:48 am and catches up to Saturn (02°Sagittarius19′) at 4:11 am tomorrow morning. Over the next couple of years as Saturn continues to travel through Sagittarius at least once each month the Moon comes along to illuminate the restructuring occurring in our middle world reality around the mysteries of the quest for truth and meaning.  Being willing to release old concepts and beliefs and being open to new ideas and ways of perceiving healthy interactions, involving the evolutionary journey of spirit as it expresses through matter, is the key to actively co-creating more expanded states of awareness.

January 16, Friday.  Yesterday Venus reached the cross quarter degree of 15 Aquarius. Today Mercury reaches 15 Aquarius. When the Sun passes 15 Aquarius on Feb 3 or 4 it is the time of the astrological cross-quarter between the December Solstice and the March Equinox. Just like when the Sun is in this area of the sky, Mercury and Venus being here at this in-between point – is a great time to receive insights and inspiration from beyond our ordinary reality.

In the early morning hours around 4:11 am Pacific Time the Moon is passing about 2 degrees N of Saturn (2 Sagittarius 19) illuminating the quest for expanding consciousness and our understanding of what is true. This is also further activating the fixed Star Dschubba. (See January 9 and 15)

January 17, Saturday. The Moon is coming into complete the Grand Fire Trine with Uranus and Jupiter. Either late last night or early this morning, depending on your time zone the Moon trined Uranus and today the Moon is trining Uranus at 11:25 am Pacific time. Meaning anyone born late yesterday and into today will have a Grand Fire Trine on their natal chart. This signature is considered a gift, but only if it is actually used.

Jupiter and Uranus will again be exactly trine on March 3 and June 22.

The Grand Fire Trine brings us gifts of inspiration that require committed action to bring into fruition. Fire requires fuel to burn and taking action is a great way to fuel the fire of inspiration available now.

January 18, Sunday. The waning Moon enters Capricorn at 4:04 am passing over the Galactic Gateway drawing our awareness to the circle of Grandmothers, who provide the gift of wise counsel when we are willing to listen. This is also good time to reflect on our effectiveness in administrating our lives? It may be time to consider what it would take to BE more efficient, organized, and free of clutter – be it emotional, mental or physical clutter.

January 19, Monday. The Moon catches up to Pluto (13°Capricorn48′) at 2:51 am again activating the degrees of the Grand Cross and the Uranus Pluto square. The Moon and Pluto are illuminating the potential for greater empowerment once we have dealt with our unconscious and conscious fears and limiting beliefs. The unconscious fears are the ones that drive our choices without us being aware of why we are doing what we are doing.

In some cases, we may be aware of the fears that drive our choices but avoid facing those fears. For those who are in Pluto cycle, meaning  you have planets, angles or nodes in Capricorn, Aries, Cancer or Libra between 12.5 and 13.5 degrees,  it is a time when life circumstances will most likely bring these unconscious and conscious fears front and center. They can no longer be ignored. The gift that comes from facing these challenges is EMPOWERMENT though you may be required, through circumstances beyond your control, to let go of who you thought you were so you can be reborn to who you truly are!

Venus (19°Aquarius57′) is opposite retrograde Jupiter (19°Leo57′) exact at 5:44 am heralding the time in August when Venus and Jupiter join together in the evening sky. Venus opposite Jupiter is like a Full Moon, meaning Jupiter is setting as Venus is rising or vice versa. Since Venus is NOT visible until after sunset it is not possible to see Venus Rise as Jupiter sets. However, it is possible to see Jupiter not long after sunset as it is rising about 3 minutes before Venus sets sometime between 6:30 and 7:20 pm (perhaps even earlier or later) depending on your location.

Mars catches up to Neptune (05°Pi56′) at 4:08 pm suggesting this is a time for acting on our inspired visions and our deep inner knowing especially if we know it is true to who we are. One of the challenges of Mars is the tendency to act quickly. One of the challenges of Neptune is getting lost in the visions and perhaps not taking any action at all. When healthy, Mars and Neptune do not act from logic and reason, but rather from the spontaneous divine guidance that reaches beyond the rational mind. This has the effect of taking us exactly where we need to go, even if it doesn’t make sense initially.

January 20, Tuesday.  Uranus and the South Node (12°Aries56′) are conjunct at 12:42 am. The radical revolutionary Uranus with the South Node is about disrupting what has been so something NEW can emerge. It is time to say adios to old patterns, old ideas, old points of view, old perspectives, and old habits knowing that as you do novel, unique and wondrous possibilities are emerging.

The Sun enters Aquarius at 1:43 am where it remains until Feb 18 illuminating the mysteries of the radical revolutionary, and the seasonal energy when the seeds (planted at the December Solstice) are breaking free of their outer casings. Aquarius is always seeking new territory and experimenting with innovative new ways that revolutionize current ideas and beliefs. Aquarius operates from the premise that change is necessary for growth and evolution and without change life would be exceedingly boring.

Then the Moon enters Aquarius at 4:59 am followed by the Aquarius New (00°Aquarius09’) exact at 5:13 am. This means there will be two Aquarius New Moons this year. The next is Feb 18 at 29 Aquarius 59. Usually the Aquarius New Moon signals the beginning of the Chinese New Year. Apparently this year the Chinese are celebrating their New Year on the Second Aquarius New Moon inaugurating the year of the Goat/Sheep/Ram in February.

It is only more recently that Chinese New Year has been linked with the Aquarius New Moon. There was a time it was linked to Jupiter moving into a new constellation. The current way of determining the Chinese New Year reflects the influence of more modern calendars. However, the Chinese have retained a connection to the Lunar Calendar by fixing their New Year point with the Aquarius New Moon. This means their New Year’s is not the same date every year like January 1 in the Gregorian Calendar System but rather can be as early as January 20 and as late as February 19 China time. This year with 2 Aquarius New Moons the New Year is beginning near its latest possible time happening on the 19th in China and in the 18th in most western time zones.

The Aquarius New Moon has innovative revolutionary qualities associated with it that are intended to accelerate divinely inspired radical evolutionary changes. Taking time to tune in and be open to creative insights and inspiration that take you in new directions, or open you to new possibilities outside the realm of everyday experience, is a great way to participate with the intent of this New Moon time.

January 21, Wednesday. Mercury (17°Aquarius 05′) stations retrograde at 7:54 am while having reached its closest approach to the Sun (Perihelion) in its current cycle (from the Earth’s perspective) stationing direct on February 11. Plus, the Moon passes 3° N of retrograde Mercury (17 Aquarius) at 8:13 am and then catches up to Venus (23°Aq05′) at 05:45 pm.

This Mercury retrograde is energizing a radical, outside the box process of freedom oriented innovative thinking, coming from a cosmic overview BIG picture perspective, intended to revolutionize current perceptions of reality. This is a great time to engage in creative efforts but not always so great for technology so be sure to back up your computer and other data as crashes and losses are more likely during this time.

The Moon with evening star Venus/Inanna is passing through the second gate a.k.a the “Gate of Creativity” as the Queen of Heaven ascends from the underworld and reclaims her second chakra vestment. Some translations of the story describe this vestment as jeweled anklets symbolizing a return of a healthy connection to her ego. Other versions say Inanna is regaining her golden belt worn around her hips reclaiming her value and knowing her worth.

For those born in an eight year (8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88, 96, 104 etc) between January 14, 2014 and August 20, 2015 this is YOUR personal 8 year Venus return cycle and is an important time for paying attention to the intent of this Timing and to ceremonially reclaim this part of yourself. If you would like to be part of a magical, supportive and safe Circle that has gathered from around the world to collectively work ceremonially with this cycle – connecting on-line – guided by Me and Tami Brunk then be sure to check out this Link for details. We are re-creating an ancient ceremonial community practice of honoring the Venus Cycle.

For many this Venus journey has been life changing already. At each gate we are using tools and activations to claim and empower the energy and aliveness of each Chakra while supporting the Ascension Process. Again details are HERE

Here is just one of many testimonials describing the power of this group and the process.
I am so thankful for this tele-course. Without it, I would be going through all of this and have no idea why or that others were experiencing similar things or how to handle it all. So, I know my Higher Power, the Grandmothers, my Angels and all supreme beings are watching out for me.

Plus, What an amazingly powerful FaceBook group!! I am awe-struck at the caliber of people responding and sharing. WOW!!! As a teacher, to have this kind of response between students was always considered the best. I sense that something truly remarkable happening here and I am looking forward to see how this all turns out for us all. It feels very magical. I believe we are in the embryo stages of a miracle! ~Karen Salvador

January 22, Thursday. The Moon enters Pisces at 4:48 am catching up to Neptune (06°Pisces01′) at 2:26 pm and passing about 4 degrees N of Mars (08°Pisces20′) at 6:10 pm. The Pisces Neptune Mysteries are linked with how we are dreaming our reality.

What we imagine, what we think about, what we feel and what we focus our energy on, creates the Dream we are living.

As John Perkins points out in his book, The World Is as You Dream It, the energy created by our dreaming, is like the air traveling everywhere and our ability to use this energy is only limited by our dream of its power.

Our dreams can affect everyone and everything else – if we energize them with enough power.

Mars is about taking action so take time to activate your NEW dream by constantly bringing into the light of awareness, feeling into it, sensing it within you, thinking about it, meditating and journeying on it, talking about it with those you feel will support it. This is about believing it is possible and can become your reality. This is about perceiving the New Earth and your New Dream within the New Earth – and energizing it with the power of your intention and allowing it to live within you.

January 23, Friday. The Moon catches up to Chiron (14°Pisces44′) at 4:30 am. Pisces is the archetype of the empathic Healer asking how can I help and heal? Chiron is the archetype of the Shaman Healer. Chiron in Pisces is about connecting with the healing modality of radical compassion. Pema Chodran describes radical compassion in her book The Places that Scare You, as a useful tool for how to help and heal ourselves. She says:

When we touch the center of sorrow, when we sit with discomfort without trying to fix it, when we stay present to the pain of disapproval or betrayal and let it soften us, these are the times that we connect with bodhichitta (Pema defines bodhichitta as follows….chitta is “mind” and “heart” and ‘”attitude” and bodhi is “awake”, “enlightened” or “completely open”. Sometimes the completely open heart and mind of the bodhichitta is called the soft spot, a place as vulnerable and tender as an open wound).

Tapping into that shaky and tender place has a transformative effect. Being in this place may feel uncertain and edgy but it’s also a big relief. Just to stay there even for a moment, feels like a genuine act of kindness to ourselves. Being compassionate enough to accommodate our fears takes courage, of course, and it definitely feels counterintuitive. But it’s what we need to do.

Chiron would agree!

January 24, Saturday. The Moon enters Aries at 5:31 am transmitting the mysteries of the Sacred Warrior who is committed to protecting and supporting a noble cause or worthy mission they hold dear. When the Moon is in Aries it is a great time to take action, any kind of action, that strengthens your commitment to taking care of yourself or furthering the cause or mission you feel most aligned with and passionate about. One action that might be helpful is hiking in nature, taking a walk, exercising, or some other activity that gets you moving as that can inspire a sense of what is next.

January 25, Sunday. The Moon catches up to the South Node (12 Aries 27) and then Uranus (13°Aries05′) at 3:27 am. Not only is this one more in the series of occulations of the Moon over Uranus (there will be 13 this year and there were 5 last year) it also activates the degrees of the Grand Cross that was exact in April of 2014.

Each time a planet passes 13 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer or Libra it is adding energy to what was seeded at that time and gives us a chance to energize new possibilities. It may also activate events that are designed to disrupt the hold any stuck patterns from the past, be they beliefs, habits, patterns or addictions may still have on us. The breakdown of these limiting patterns helps us to breakthrough into new territory and new possibilities. (This YouTube describes the Grand Cross/Grand Shift and how to work with it)

Also, remember occultations are similar to eclipses in that they accelerate the energy already present. It sounds a bit cliché but it might be helpful to expect the unexpected and roll with whatever is happening.

January 26, Monday. The Moon enters Taurus at 8:30 am and reaches First Quarter Phase (6 Taurus 55) at 8:48 pm. The half full First Quarter Moon begins the most visible rapid growth of the Moon as it continues to gain in light reaching the next Full Moon on February 3. This is a time for accelerated growth that includes the mysteries of intimacy, receivership and savoring the beauty, joy and pleasure of life. This is about healthy pleasure that does not lead to pain and suffering. Healthy Taurus knows how to extend the experience of pleasure for as long as possible without going into the realm of pain. A great question to consider is:

What brings you the greatest amount of pleasure while also adding to your health and wellbeing?

January 27, Tuesday. Venus enters Pisces at 7:00 am traveling through this seasonal sign where the Sun is traveling 30 days before the March Equinox. Venus is in Pisces until February 20. The Pisces archetype includes engaging the mysteries of dreaming a new reality. Now more than ever this is the time to dream big dreams of a harmonious, abundant, vibrant New Earth.

There is a children’s story and movie titled, The Never Ending Story about a land called Fantasia and it is being consumed by the Nothing. The Nothing or no-thing is causing Fantasia to disappear little by little – because people have stop believing in this magical land. This story is NOT unlike what the Earth is facing now.

It is the hero’s task to find a human child willing to re-dream this world known as Fantasia. It is as simple as giving the princess a new name, a new identity, that help to plant the seeds of a New World. Engaging in redreaming this world through thoughts and beliefs, Sebastian (the human child) brings Fantasia back to life, and the Nothing, that is causing this magical land to disappear, vanishes. I have included a collage (on previous page) that has ideas for naming the qualities of the New Earth. You may want to create one that works for you?

As Venus continues her ascent it is time to find the new names that will define the New Earth and the loving return of the compassionate Divine Feminine in service to all life. Venus in Pisces reminds us of the importance of our personal and collective dreaming in co-creating the emerging New Earth as one of the most potent ways to help and heal.

January 28, Wednesday. The Moon enters Gemini passing about 8 degrees N of the Pleiades at 2:36 pm, visible beyond the Pleiades tonight for the second time this month. (See January 1)

The Moon in Gemini is illuminating the Heyokah, Coyote, Contrary operating beyond the limits of our dualistic reality. There is an ancient Vedic text I love to share from the Bhagavad Gita, talking about the state of acceptance as a place beyond duality and polarity. This happens when one is NO longer egoically attached to the results of their actions liberating them from the challenges of living in duality. The result is eternal freedom.

Content with getting what arrives of itself
Passed beyond the pairs, free from envy,
Not attached to success nor failure,
Even acting, s/he is not bound.
S/He is to be recognized as eternally free
Who neither loathes nor craves;
For s/he that is freed from the pairs,
Is easily freed from conflict.
~ The Bhagavad

Said another way… total acceptance of self and of all that IS without judgment, or resistance, or a need to fix it or make it be different than what it is, liberates us from the limiting experience of duality including the concepts of good or bad, right or wrong, success or failure. This is the place of total freedom. Acceptance and non-attachment to this impermanent world liberates us from conflict and sets us free.

January 29, Thursday. Venus (03°Pisces24′) squares Saturn (03°Sagittarius24′) at 12:22 am. Saturn teaches us about what it takes to succeed in the middle world as we encounter the boundaries and limits of physical life. As Venus continues her ascent, Saturn is helping her to attune to practices that support a healthy physical, emotional and mental life. Saturn in Sagittarius is also bringing in the element of the spiritual quest and the practices that increase consciousness and awareness to the most expansive possible expression.

The Moon is passing 1.2 degrees North of Aldebaran around 9:30 am. This means that the Moon is passing close enough to Aldebaran to be the first in a series of 48 occultations that will last until September 2018. This occultation is not visible to those experiencing daylight hours meaning the Moon will be visible beyond Aldebaran tonight. (see January 2)

January 30, Friday. Retrograde Mercury and the Sun (10°Aquarius20′) meet on the inside track, where Mercury is closest to the Earth at 05:45 am.  When retrograde Mercury meets the Sun it is always the time when Mercury is shapeshifting into a new archetype. Shapeshifting into Aquarius marks a revolutionary new beginning for the mysteries of cognition, communication and perception that come from a Cosmic Overview and is assisted by expanded states of consciousness bringing to mind the book Bothers of the Grape by Arnold Michael. This quote from the book expresses an expansive Aquarian view of our individual and collective divine mission.

“Everyone comes into life with a divine mission particular to her or him and that mission is to awaken a particular quality of consciousness within. The ultimate destiny of us all is to unfold all the facets of the ‘philosopher’s stone,’ which means all the attributes of our inherent wholeness and perfection.”

Arnold Michael also founded the Madonna Ministry with his wife Kathryn in 1970.  Bothers of the Grape is a spiritual novel that helps to answer the question; “What can I, as an individual do to assist in bringing peace to a troubled world?”

The waxing Moon enters Cancer at 11:08 pm for the second time this month and will be again visible near the Galactic Cross. The Moon is transmitting the lineage as well as the evolutionary impulse of the Cancer Mysteries. In the Cancer Mystery School this is about Responsible Nurturing that begins with learning how to nurture yourself so you can responsibly nurture others.

There are healthy responsible ways to do self-care and like anything self-care can be used as an excuse or a way to be less than responsible in how someone shows up with others. For example, if you are avoiding a conflict using the excuse of self-care as a way to indefinitely avoid the encounter then that is a shadow expression of self-care. Using self-nurturing as a way to avoid or hurt others is NOT responsible.

Practicing daily healthy self-care includes healthy life-style practices. Eating nurturing restorative whole foods, balanced forms of exercise, plenty of sleep, resting when tired, utilizing calming and centering practices like meditation or yoga, and spending time in nature. These are all ways to nurture yourself and increase personal vitality so what you have to give comes from a place of wholeness and balance. (see January 2)

January 31, Saturday. Mars catches up to Chiron (15°Pisces10′) 12:23 pm. This aspect is in affect while Mars is in Pisces from January 12 to February 19. Mars with Chiron in Pisces invokes a sense of healing or transforming the wounds that are the result of our seeming separation and experience of being divine.

Mars is an active masculine force so when encountering Chiron this is about possibilities for deep healing down to the DNA and beyond. Beginning in the 1950’s experiments with Torsion Fields began. The definition of Torsion is: the action of twisting or the state of being twisted, especially of one end of an object relative to the other. This is the classic image of the DNA.

Torsion Fields are also referred to as axion field, or spin field and refer to the quantum spin of particles that can be used to cause emanations lacking mass and energy to carry information through a vacuum at one billion times the speed of light. Torsion fields transmit information without transmitting energy, and they propagate through physical media without interacting (in traditional sense) with this media. (See Research Paper HERE)

Experiments with Torsion Fields designed to work as “high-frequency bio-communication” devices were conducted by Yu.V.Tszyan Kanchzhen. These energetic torsion fields were literally able to change the DNA of the animals that received the bio-electromagnetic frequencies of another animal.

One experiment took a chicken and placed it at the receiving end of the “high-frequency bio-communication” torsion field. At the origination point of the torsion field a duck was placed.  The chicken was sent high frequency waves over a period of time. What happened was the hen started to look like a duck, gaining webbed feet and other duck-like features. Plus, when the chicken laid her eggs and then hatched them the babies had duck features including the eyes and head and webbed feet of a duck.

In another experiment the bio-signature of a salamander was sent to a pregnant frog and the babies were born 100% Salamander. The results were startling. The DNA of these animals had energetically been rewritten in one generation.

Other experiments included anti-aging, rehabilitating and rejuvenating the DNA. After receiving month long bio-communication treatments, children with cerebral palsy were running, dancing and laughing.

This lets us know we have far greater abilities for profound physical healing and changing the physical structure of our bodies (and perhaps the Earth) than we may otherwise realize. These experiments remind us that it does NOT take thousands or millions of years for evolution to occur. We can change the nature of reality by dreaming a NEW dream of this reality but first we must be willing to do so!
