An Overview of 2009 by Cayelin K Castell
Great Spirit, thank you for granting me the serenity and grace to accept life… on life’s terms;

I am grateful that I am usually able to accept what IS and roll with the flow of what is unfolding. However, I still resist accepting myself when feeling challenged and I am not always able to accept everything that happens either. The above prayer came to me as the result of the circumstances I faced this December while writing the January 2009 Celestial Timings.
You may recognize how it is similar to the Serenity Prayer.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
2009 is a year filled with opportunities for radical change and perspective shifts that will most likely occur in unexpected ways through unusual events. Many of these events will test our ability to go with the flow and Accept What IS, while also trusting that we are being divinely guided no matter what it looks like on the surface.
The gifts of Acceptance and trust empowers the process of transformation. Our task will be to know when to take action to change, what IS ours to change, and when to release and let go and accept what IS when it is not our job to change it or make it be different than what it IS. Often when we release attachments to what Is or Isn’t that is when it can easily change to a more authentic expression.
It is important to remember that you don’t have to like what is happening. You might even spend time wishing it was different. Then you might even find it is important to accept that you don’t feel accepting of whatever is happening. Learn to Discern what you can change and what you can’t. Sometimes it helps to realize what you can change is your perception about a situation.
When your perception shifts then the circumstances can change and suddenly we have a whole new way of perceiving the gifts. With such an incredibly strong Aquarian theme for 2009 emphasizing “freedom from the known” and “events of extreme novelty” radical evolutionary change is guaranteed. The events that take place this year will be whatever it takes to get us to where we are destined to be. The more we are willing to roll with and accept these changes the easier and more rewarding it will be.
Keeping An Eye on the Sky
The more I read about and study how ancient cultures tracked the sky mysteries, the more I understand how important and vital it was for them to maintain a constant connection with this aspect of Great Mystery. Many cultures had specially trained priests or shamans whose job was to keep a constant eye on the sky. This wasn’t a monthly thing or a weekly thing. It was every single night, all night long that someone watched the movement of the planets and stars for the benefit of their community and maintaining their balance with the natural order of life.
More and more I am realizing the importance of The Celestial Timings as an offering that keeps an eye on the sky on a daily basis. This is a more modern version of what the ancients did since it is not so easy in our current culture to have someone sit with the sky all night. I am realizing that this means that when anyone reads the Celestial Timings they are assisting in the process of witnessing the Celestial miracles that are unfolding on a daily basis. Plus as each of you connect either visually or through your thoughts and awareness of these Timings you are engaging an ancient practice that benefits you individually as well as the entire collective at this important Turning of the Ages.
I am continually awed at how much writing these Timings is a profound personal initiation working me at deeper and deeper levels with each passing month. I simply do not have adequate words to describe the energy I feel being activated as I write them and then deepened every time I go back and edit them or read them myself and find how perfectly they fit with what is unfolding in my own life. An added bonus for me is the wonderful feedback I receive regarding the experiences many of you share about how these Celestial Timings support and enrich your journey. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the love and support you share with me as we co-create a grounded experience of Celestial Earth, where the Celestial is also embodied in our Earthly experience…
