This article is a work in progress, as I am going with publishing now is better than perfection later choosing to coincide with Chiron’s first move into Taurus. See data below.
Chiron in Taurus highlights the challenges of being in a human body, the physcial, emotional, mental and spiritual tests and trials we all encounter and signed up for when we agreed to be embodied in this life.
A wise strategy is to embrace the medicine and wisdom these experiences have for us as we transform our awareness and experience the gift we have been given of a physical body that has the ability to feel and perceive in ways not possible in other life forms.
When we realize the gift we have been given (no matter how challenging it seems) we begin to transform these wounds into our medicine – accepting what is, trusting this is happening for us (not to us) and surrendering to the possibility of experiencing profound sacred pleasure in this embodied form.
As someone who has questioned (as many of us have) the validity of my right to be here in this reality, to take up the space I occupy and has worked hard to prove that I do have something of value to offer to justify my existence, I imagine this is a common experience, a common wound so many of us have encountered and are likely still encountering to some degree whether we are aware of it or not.
With Chiron passing through the Taurean realm until July of 2033 (with a brief return to Aries – see data below) we have plenty of time to assess how these wounds may still be affecting us and to ask ourselves what it would take to transform them into our medicine where we again remember the gift of life, the gift of pleasure, the gift we give ourselves when we fully receive and savor this embodied experience.
We live in a world that has minimized receiving the love, joy and fun that are ours to experience. The saying is: It is better to give than receive! Years ago someone shared in talk they were giving (for the life of me I can’t remember her name) the orginial translation was: It is better to give than take something that is not yours!
That is an entirely different context that was crafted to exploit people into giving (overgiving, giving beyond one’s means, giving until there is nothing left to give) and to reject receiving as something that is not as good. One way I have seen this play out is how both my grandmothers refused to receive anything from another person because they didn’t want to owe them anything. As if a gift is given to you (including gifts of help, time, connection, etc) now you must return a gift to the other person rather than just accepting the gift as a gift that gave the giver pleasure to give it.
Of course the shadow side of giving is when it is done to get something in return. Another Chiron wound that may be up for consideration over the next few years.
Something to consider is how you are receiving the gifts of life, the gifts others offer to us because they experience joy and delight in the giving and your receiving of their gifts is a gift to them in return. How is Chiron helping us heal the wound of giving and receiving in healthy ways?
