Station Points are Still Points

The retrograde and direct station of any planet represents one of two exact Still Points creating a nexus or connection point (a convergence, a coming together) linking two or more things – such as possibilities, inspiration, and ideas –  that ideally supports our personal and collective evolution.

TS Eliots’ poem from 1952 on the Still Point is a wonderful description of the Still Point.

Any Retrograde is Similar to Pulling the Arrow Back on the Bow…

When an arrow is pulled back on the bow it is stepping back to gather strength and momentum for moving forward. Literally what we see is the arrow moving away from its intended target for the purpose of gathering the necessary power designed to help swiftly propel it forward with aimed intent and purpose. It is a great reminder that stepping back to step forward helps us do so with greater clarity and confidence when
done with awareness and intent.

Stepping back, taking time to dive deeper into an insight or understanding, to take a closer look from a specific point of view. Retrogrades are an opporutnity to connect with re-evalution of life by reviewing, redoing and/or renewing something whether it is a perspective, a belief system, an habitual response or lifestyle that is either healthy or not including how we interact with others, with our work, our creative expression or something else.

A Planetary Retrograde Insight
I received July 1, 2019 but could apply to any retrograde planet.

I walked past this leaf hanging in some dried grass on our July 1, 2019 hike in Pima Canyon. It caught my eye so I walked back to get a closer look. The leaf is pictured with me holding it and a closer view below.

Whenever I walk back to see something that has caught my eye I always feel it is similar to what happens when a planet goes retrograde – as it is also seen walking back across the sky to get a closer look and sense of something it has just passed.

When I picked up the leaf  to examine it – I was struck by its beauty…I mentioned to my husband Peter how it looked like a work of art and not something you see in the desert very often. In my 40+ years of living and hiking in the Arizona Desert I may have seen something like this before but it was the way it was positioned that captured my attention. Message received, and I am still decoding it.

Going back to to get a closer look at something you have already passed by is a great reminder of the opportunity we have whenever any Planet is Retrograde – especially Mercury. I feel I was sent a magical message. I hope it feels like an inspiring message for you and a great reminder of the gift any Planetary Retrograde can be when we recognize it as such.
